Beauty Tips for Men

March 3rd, 2010

‘Man skin care’ would seem as though an alien topic to a few men. It would have been even more alien a couple of years back. Even so, increasingly men are now recognizing the importance of man skin care (and hence you see markets flush with man skin care products too). Even though the male skin is very different from that of a female, ‘man skin care’ is very similar to the skin care for women.

‘Man skin care’ as well begins with cleansing. Water soluble cleansers are favored. Cleansing helps eliminate the dirt, grease and pollutants from the skin and supports in preventing pore clogging. The built-in oily nature of male skin makes cleansing an important part of man skin care procedure. Cleansing should be done leastwise once daily, even better if it’s done twice a day. Applying soap on the face is discouraged.

‘Man skin care’ revolves very much around shaving. Shaving foam/gel/cream and after-shave lotion are among the most crucial man skin care products. Serious ‘man skin care’ needs a suitable choice of shaving associated equipment and products. Among the primary considerations in choosing shaving products should be the skin type (since the degree of oiliness differs from one-on-one).

Alcohol-based after-shave lotion should be avoided. Suitable ‘man skin care’ also mandates the use of fine good quality razors. Here, swivel-head razors are preferable as they are known to reduce cuts. Also these products and equipment, they are also necessary that you use them in good order. Be gentle when using your razor. Don’t scrape it against your skin; use a soft and smooth action (after all it’s a issue of eliminating the hair, not the skin itself).

Male skin is commonly thicker and more sebaceous, owing to larger pores and more alive sebaceous glands. However, if you regular shave the skin can get dehydrated quite easily. Therefore moisturisers too form an integral part of man skin care. Moisturising gel or cream should be applied after shaving. As a matter of fact, some shaving foams/ gel have an in-built moisturizing effect too. Moisturisers should be patted gently over the face and massaged softly using upwardly strokes.

Although a man’s skin is less susceptible to skin cancer caused by UV radiation, applying a sunscreen is also an significant man skin care measure. You can use a moisturiser that combines sunscreen with the moisturising effect.

Another beneficial choice for ‘man skin care’ is to use man skin care products which have natural ingredients like aloe vera, sea salt and coconut and so on. Naturally sterilised oils for instance. lavender, tea tree etc as well provide a good means for man skin care.

Man skin care isn’t as hard as numerous of men believe. It barely asks for a couple of minutes each day, in order to devote you a healthy skin for present and for future.
